At SafeMind, we want the financial side of care to be as clear and stress-free as possible so you can focus on feeling better. Below is an overview of how fees, insurance, and payments work in our practice.
SafeMind Psychiatric Wellness Center accepts many major insurance plans, including (but not limited to):
REPLACE WITH LOGOS OF INSURANCE COMPANIES
Please note:
Insurance participation can change over time. We strongly recommend that you call your insurance company before your first visit to confirm:
- That SafeMind Psychiatric Wellness Center and Syed Alam are in-network
- Your copay amount for mental health visits
- Your deductible and coinsurance
- Whether prior authorization is required
You are responsible for any copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and services not covered by your plan.
If you do not have insurance, prefer not to use it, or we are out-of-network with your plan, we offer self-pay options for:
- Initial psychiatric evaluation
- Follow-up medication management visits
- Psychotherapy/combined visits (when available)
We are committed to transparent pricing. Current fees are available by phone or email, and we are happy to review costs before you schedule.
For out-of-network patients, we can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt with diagnosis and billing codes) that you may submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement, depending on your plan.
- Copays are due at the time of your visit (in person or virtual).
- If you have not met your deductible, your insurance may apply visit charges toward that amount, and you may receive a bill from our office.
- Coinsurance is the percentage of the visit cost you are responsible for after your deductible is met.
After your insurance processes the claim, you may receive a statement from us for any remaining balance.
We currently accept:
- Major credit and debit cards
- HSA/FSA cards (depending on your plan)
- Other payment options may be available; please ask our staff
Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. Late cancellations and missed visits can delay care for you and other patients who need appointments.
- We request at least 24 business hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
- Late cancellations or no-shows may result in a fee that is not covered by insurance.
Repeated missed appointments can disrupt treatment and may affect our ability to continue scheduling with you.
Some services outside of regular visits may require an additional fee, such as:
- Completion of extensive forms (e.g., disability, FMLA, work/school accommodations)
- Detailed letters, reports, or records requests
- Medication prior authorization appeals that require significant additional documentation
We will always inform you if a fee applies before completing these services.
We understand that financial stress and mental health often go hand in hand. If you are concerned about the cost of your care:
- Let us know before your visit
- We can review your options, including insurance coverage, self-pay, and community resources
- Our goal is to work with you so that money is not the only reason you avoid getting help
If you have any questions about fees, insurance, or payment options, please contact our office. We are happy to help you understand your benefits and what to expect before you start treatment at SafeMind Psychiatric Wellness Center.
